The Rotary Club of Dapto has decided to support the Uplift Project. This project collects new and second hand bras and sends them in disadvantaged communities where a bra is often unobtainable or unaffordable. Women these communities often do not have the funds to purchase a bra. A new bra, if available at all, can cost 10-30 hour’s wages and in many regions second hand bras are cheap enough, but rarely available. This leads to health problems and embarrassing situations for lactating mothers.

Since 2005 the Uplift Project has sent over 2 million bras to 21 countries across the Pacific, Asia, and Africa. Uplift only sends bras when we have requests from local women’s groups. Our collection point is Alexander's Cafe, 1-2 Princes Highway Dapto. Bras have been supplied to Fiji, PNG, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Cook Islands, Bali, Cambodia,Vanuatu, Sri Lanka, NZ, Botswana, Kiribati, Australia, Pakistan and Kenya.
