ARE YOU READY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY, OR IN COMMUNITIES AROUND THE WORLD?

We use our knowledge of local issues to identify areas of need, then apply our expertise and diverse perspectives to the problem. Our Rotary members are most likely at work in your community right now feeding the hungry, tutoring children, maintaining parks, and more. You can help.

You do not have to be a Rotarian to volunteer to help with a project and/or an event. we invite people to come and help us, to give back to our community in any way that suits you.

While we work on projects and events we also have fun and enjoyment. Working together makes the tasks easier and extra help is always needed

If you would like to volunteer to help with a project then send an email to: contact@daptorotary.com.au

Or register online for one of our events-someone will give you a call to ensure you have all the information required.
Volunteering to help with a project
If you are interested in volunteering for a project you are welcolme. You do not have to be a Rotarian to work with us on a project.

For example wearing a purple shirt on a Friday to raise awareness of the impact of domestic violence (DV) on our community. The shirts cost $8 and you can order and pay online. Maybe even get people in your workplace to wear the t-shirt on a Friday.  We also have walks that again raise awareness so check out our calendar to see what is happening. The next walk will be the last Saturday in November as part of the annual Rotary campaign to end DV. Rotary Clubs across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands take part in this campaign.

Also you may have an idea for a project to improve the livability of our community. If so then please let us know.

So contact us if you are interested in joining in a project or have any ideas on a need in our community.
Bunnings BBQs
One of our most reliable fundraiser is our monthly community BBQ at Bunnings at Kembla Grange. The day is often busy but great fun working together, having a chat and catching up.

We also like chatting with the public who are appreciative of the work we do in the local community.

The money raised from these BBQ's goes to our yearly donations and supports our projects. An example for this year is working on delivering the Love Bites program to our local schools. This program teaches young people about respectful relationships and is an effective prevention against the prevalence of DV in our community. We are spending $4000 on this project and the money is generated form our Bunnings BBQs.

If you are interested in helping out-in any way register and you will find the list of tasks for the day. You get to choose what you would like to do.

Monthly free community BBQ
Some years ago we had a project working with the Homeless Hub. We added a monthly BBQ to the activities of the project. This proved to be a great addition and allowed us the opportunity to talk to locals and learn more about our local area and the people of Dapto. It also gave us the opportunity to give back to our community because they have generously supported us over the years.

We decided that this was a worthwhile activity and that we would continue the BBQs. So on the third Thursday of the month we offer a free sausage sandwich and drink to local people. So you will find us in Dapto Square from about 10am to about 1pm. Depends on demand how long we stay after 12 o'clock.

So come and join us and learn more about the projects we are doing in the Dapto area, across the country and internationally.

If you would like to volunteer then register so we know you are joining us.
Sunday Coffee and Environment (SEC)
The Sunday Enviro and Coffee group (SEC). SEC is so named as we often follow the clean up with coffee at a local eatery.

The last Sunday of the month at 10am, the SEC volunteers meet at a local site where we clean up the rubbish. This varies but we focus on the Dapto area. We also support 'Clean up Australia' and Rise & Shine'.

Then we have a coffee, combining our working bee with a chat and catch up with friends.

If you know of any areas in the Dapto area that need a clean up then let us know through 'Contact Us' on the website. Or better still come and join us! We welcome volunteers. The more people the more we clean up!

We are sometimes joined by Rotarians for other clubs.
