Camp Abilities Australia

Camp Abilities Australia is a fun and inclusive multi-day summer camp where young people who are blind or have low vision come together to be active, try adapted sports, build confidence and make new friends in a safe and supported environment. This will be the first Camp Abilities in Australia and we aim to set up more camps in other areas in the future “….believe you can achieve”.

Dates: January 10–15, 2027 (5 days)
Location: The Tops, Stanwell Tops NSW
Who can attend: Children and teenagers aged 8–18 years who are blind or have low vision.

About Camp Abilities
Founded in the United States in 1996, Camp Abilities is an internationally recognised program that empowers children who are blind or have low vision through adaptive sport and physical activity.
Camp Abilities Australia is being established by Lily Piccolo, a vision-impaired para-athlete and disability advocate. “A loss of sight, never a loss of vision”.

How the Camp Works
Each young athlete is paired with their own one-to-one coach for the entire camp, providing individual support, guidance, and encouragement.
Sports & Activities Planned
Judo, Swimming, Tennis, Tandem Cycling, Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, Fitness, Dance, Outdoor Adventure activities and a Camp Talent Show.
